Last Push Before Winter: I-94 and I-394 Segments Closed This Weekend in Minneapolis

Minneapolis is a city in Hennepin County, Minnesota. The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is reminding drivers: from 10 p.m. Friday, October 9, through 5 a.m. Monday, October 12, two major Minneapolis freeway segments will be closed for construction — plan alternate routes in advance.
Westbound I-394 will close so crews can safely paint several westbound I-394 bridges. Westbound I-394 entrance ramps from 3rd Avenue, 5th Street, Twins Way and Linden Avenue will also close.
During the same weekend, eastbound I-94 between Highway 55 and I-394 will close for patching, sealing and other needed bridge deck repairs. Drivers will be detoured to Highway 55, Highway 100 and I-394 during the closures.
MnDOT says the work is part of a larger project along I-394 and I-94 that includes repairing and restoring 34 bridges and ramps, with completion targeted for November — wrapping up before Minnesota winter arrives. As always, MnDOT notes all projects are weather-dependent; drivers can check the MnDOT project page for the latest updates.
