LONG BEACH — Senate President pro Tempore Monique Limón joined former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and the authors of AB 32, former Assembly Speaker Fabián Núñez and former State Senator Fran Pavley, for a breakout session at the 2026 California Economic Summit on October 13, marking the 20th anniversary of the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006, California's landmark climate law.

The session opened with remarks from Fran Pavley, followed by a presentation of a Next 10 report on AB 32's impacts after 20 years and a panel titled "AB 32 and Its Continued Relevance." Former California EPA Secretary Terry Tamminen and California Forward CEO Kate Gordon were among the participants.

Hosted by California Forward at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center, this year's summit focuses on economic prosperity, clean energy, climate resilience, infrastructure and workforce. Organizers said the session would explore how California's climate policies have shaped its economy and what the next chapter of climate leadership requires.
