Irvine's Monster Splash Halloween Aquatics Event Set for October 24: $12 Presale for Children, Adults Free
Irvine, Orange County — Irvine is a city in Orange County, California. The City of Irvine has announced Monster Splash, a Halloween aquatics event, for Saturday, October 24, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center, 4601 Walnut Ave., Irvine.
Activities include trick-or-treating booths on the pool deck, diving boards, Halloween-themed face painting, recreational swimming and an inflatable obstacle course, plus a floating pumpkin patch, pumpkin-decorating stations and photo areas, with snacks and beverages available for purchase. Costumes are encouraged. The city says that due to ongoing construction at the facility, this year's event will be offered on a smaller scale, with a modified selection of activities.
Presale tickets, available through October 18, are $12 per child ages 17 and under; tickets at the door are $15; adults are free. Tickets are sold through yourirvine.org. Information: 949-724-6717 or cityofirvine.gov/aquatics.
Separately, the city's aquatics page says the center is currently running a Floatie Exchange program: parents can bring non-approved flotation devices such as water wings and exchange them, free of charge, for a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket for children ages 6 and under, while supplies last; a parent or guardian must watch a brief safety video and complete a waiver to receive a jacket.
