NFL Reinstates Former Saints Camp Player Harris's Eligibility to Sign

New Orleans is a city in Orleans Parish, Louisiana. The NFL sent a memo to all 32 teams on Monday ruling that defensive tackle Zxavian Harris is once again eligible to sign and may join any team this season. According to The Ringer, after a re-review the league determined that Harris did not actually participate in football activities during his time at Louisiana State University (LSU), and restored his professional eligibility.
In August, Harris had tried to follow his former coach Lane Kiffin to LSU to regain college eligibility, after attending New Orleans Saints training camp as an undrafted free agent. The league had previously barred Harris and tight end Dae'Quan Wright from working out for or signing with any team for the remainder of the 2026 season; Harris's ban has now been lifted, while the memo did not mention Wright's status.
Harris played his entire college career at Ole Miss, appearing in 52 games with 123 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks and one interception.
