[Video] Billboard Tallies 10 Chart Records Broken or Set by Ella Langley's 'Choosin' Texas' and 'Dandelion'

Billboard reported on October 14 that Ella Langley's single "Choosin' Texas" and its parent album "Dandelion" have broken or set at least 10 Billboard chart records, with the Alabama native setting records almost every week through much of 2026 on both the pop and country charts.
The headline mark came on the Billboard Hot 100: on the chart dated September 26, "Choosin' Texas" added a 23rd week at No. 1, passing Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" (22 weeks) for the most weeks atop the chart dating to its August 1958 inception. Along the way, the song passed Carey and Boyz II Men's "One Sweet Day" for the most weeks at No. 1 for a non-holiday song by a woman, and bested Carey's "We Belong Together" and Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" for the most weeks among non-holiday titles by women with no male-billed acts. As of the October 17 Hot 100, the song ranks No. 2.
Billboard's tally also includes: the song's 11th week atop the Hot 100 at the end of June made it the longest-leading country title by a woman, surpassing Debby Boone's 1977 hit "You Light Up My Life"; Langley's run atop the Country Songwriters chart has expanded to 28 weeks (through the October 17 ranking), rewriting Taylor Swift's record for a woman; Langley and co-writer Miranda Lambert are now the women country artist/songwriters with the longest-leading Hot 100 No. 1, passing Dolly Parton, who wrote the 14-week No. 1 "I Will Always Love You"; in February, Langley became the only woman to simultaneously top the Hot 100, Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts; in May, she became the first artist known primarily for country music to simultaneously occupy the Hot 100's top two spots for multiple weeks, with "Choosin' Texas" at No. 1 and "Be Her" at No. 2; and in March, Langley and Megan Moroney became the first women primarily known as country artists to concurrently top the Hot 100 and the Billboard 200, via Moroney's album "Cloud 9."
On the country and album charts, women held the entire top five of Hot Country Songs for an unprecedented seventh consecutive week on the chart dated August 1, with Langley occupying three of the five slots (Nos. 1, 3 and 5); "Dandelion" has earned more than 100,000 equivalent album units in four different weeks since its debut, the first country album by a woman to achieve that feat since the Billboard 200 began measuring by units in December 2014; and Langley holds the record for the most weeks at No. 1 on the Country Producers chart among women, with 10 through October 17.
"Choosin' Texas" was co-written by Langley with Miranda Lambert, Luke Dick and Joybeth Taylor, and co-produced by Langley and Lambert with Ben West.
