Vacant Building Fire in Moreno Valley Knocked Down Before Dawn; No Injuries Reported

A vacant building in Moreno Valley caught fire in the early hours of October 14, and Riverside County firefighters knocked it down in about an hour and a half. No injuries were reported.
According to a Riverside County Fire Department (CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire) dispatch summary, firefighters were sent to the 23500 block of Z Street at 3:55 a.m. after a caller reported smelling smoke. Crews arrived to find a single-story vacant building burning.
Because insulation inside the structure's siding had been damaged, the incident was raised to a second alarm. The department said the fire was knocked down at 5:22 a.m. and that no injuries were reported. The summary did not state a cause.
