San Diego County Public Health Centers to Close Oct. 19 for Switch to New Electronic Records System

Wednesday, October 14, 2026 · California · GSM News

San Diego County announced on October 14 that its six public health centers and seven California Children's Services medical therapy units will close for one day on Monday, October 19, to switch over to a new electronic health records system. No appointments will be scheduled that day, and normal service resumes the following day.

The county said staff have been training on the new system, OCHIN Epic, since July. Services affected by the one-day closure include immunizations, tuberculosis control, sexual health services, home visiting and case management, along with California Children's Services (CCS) programs.

The closure applies only to October 19; the centers and therapy units reopen on their regular schedules on October 20, the county said.
