Ukrainian Presidential Adviser Says SpaceX Throttled Active Starlink Terminals Overnight Without Warning, Interrupting Multiple Military Missions

Wednesday, October 14, 2026 · World News · GSM News

Kyiv — Ukrainian presidential adviser Serhiy Beskrestnov said on social media on October 14 that, over the previous night, SpaceX had throttled Starlink satellite internet terminals while they were in operation, that the Ukrainian military had received no prior warning, and that multiple missions were interrupted, Xinhua reported from Kyiv on October 14.

Beskrestnov's post did not specify how many terminals were affected, how long the throttling lasted, or which missions were interrupted. The Xinhua report carried no response from SpaceX and gave no reason for the throttling.

Starlink is the low-Earth-orbit satellite internet system operated by SpaceX; according to Beskrestnov, the terminals throttled were Starlink terminals in active use by the Ukrainian military.
