First-Person Soulslike 'Valor Mortis' Launches Oct. 13 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S for $39.99

The first-person action RPG "Valor Mortis" launched on Tuesday, October 13, for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, priced at $39.99 in the United States across platforms, according to the official PlayStation Store and Xbox Store listings; the Xbox version carries "Optimized for Xbox Series X|S" and "Xbox Play Anywhere" labels. Developer One More Level confirmed in its launch post that the game is available on Steam now.
Set in a 19th-century alternate Europe, the game follows William, a French soldier brought back to life and granted supernatural abilities by an unknown substance called Nephtoglobin that turns fallen soldiers into abominations. The soulslike combines methodical, brutal combat in the vein of the studio's Ghostrunner series with Metroidvania-inspired level design and a horror-conspiracy narrative.
The release had been moved from September 24 to October 13 by publisher Lyrical Games, which said September had become crowded with major releases and that the extra time would be used to improve the game; a demo had been available on Steam for player feedback.
