Modernism Week October Opens Today in Palm Springs With 50-Plus Activities Over Four Days, Adding New Dining and After-Dark Series
PALM SPRINGS — Palm Springs is a city in Riverside County, California. Modernism Week – October opened October 15 in Palm Springs, California, running four days through October 18. According to the organizer's official site, this year's edition offers more than 50 activities spanning midcentury modern architecture, art, interior design, landscape design and vintage style, including double-decker architectural bus tours, home tours, walking tours, films and presentations, and social events, all open to the public. A portion of ticket proceeds benefits the nonprofit organizer and other local preservation, neighborhood and community groups.
According to The Desert Sun, two evening additions debut this year: the Modernism Week Fall Dining Series, with curated dinners at three midcentury-styled restaurants — Eight4Nine, Bar Issi and King's Highway — and Modernism Week After Dark, a curated cocktail series at iconic Palm Springs spots. This edition also offers a first look inside historic Rancho Mirage homes that once housed Hollywood stars.
