The Hilbert Museum of California Art at Chapman University in Orange, California, held its first-ever Disney Fan Day on October 15. The museum, at 167 N. Atchison Street, about a 10-minute drive from Disneyland, partnered with Disney planning site Mickey Visit for the event, which ran during regular hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Daytime activities were free; the evening lecture was ticketed.

The schedule included a free meet-and-greet and Q&A with Mickey Visit founder Gavin Doyle at 2 p.m., with limited space; a family craft session in the museum courtyard from 3 to 5 p.m., with seats and supplies first come, first served; a small-group tour led by museum founder Mark Hilbert and director Mary Platt from 5 to 5:50 p.m., free but requiring an advance ticket; and at 6 p.m. a presentation by animator Jørgen Klubien, "My Creative Life at Disney and Pixar," priced at $10 with advance tickets required.

Klubien is a co-creator and co-writer of Pixar's Cars (2006) and worked on Disney and Pixar features including The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Toy Story 2 and Monsters, Inc. On view for Fan Day were the museum's current exhibition "Jørgen Klubien: At Disney and Pixar" and works by Disney artist Mary Blair.

The Hilbert Museum was founded in 2016 by collectors Mark Hilbert and the late Janet Hilbert. Its collection holds more than 5,000 oils, watercolors, illustrations, drawings and pieces of movie production art across about 22,000 square feet and 26 galleries, following an expansion completed in 2024. The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday and admission is free.
