Saturday, October 17, 2026 · City · GSM News

Austin is a city in Travis County, Texas. FHLB Dallas and Wells Fargo celebrated the grand opening of Burleson Studios in Austin on October 16, according to a Business Wire release. The 104-unit supportive housing community is designed primarily for individuals exiting chronic homelessness.

Developed by Foundation Communities in collaboration with Mobile Loaves & Fishes as part of the Burleson Road expansion of Community First! Village, Burleson Studios provides studio apartments, community gathering spaces and on-site resources that promote health, wellness and housing stability. A $1.56 million Affordable Housing Program (AHP) grant from FHLB Dallas, through Wells Fargo, helped support development costs.

'This will be our most innovative and services-rich housing community,' said Walter Moreau, executive director of Foundation Communities. FHLB Dallas has provided more than $9 million over several years to expand Community First! Village, awarded $73.5 million in AHP grants in 2025, and will announce its 2026 AHP awards this month.
