Charlotte Water Maintains Mandatory Stage 2 Water Restrictions Despite Improved Reservoir Levels
Charlotte is a city in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Charlotte Water is maintaining its mandatory Stage 2 water restrictions, the City of Charlotte announced on October 15.
Recent rainfall has improved reservoir levels, the city said, but the restrictions remain in effect because the six-month average streamflow is still below normal. Stage 2 mandatory restrictions are the water-use limits the city applies under its drought response framework for customers across its service area.
Charlotte Water is the city's water and wastewater utility, serving Charlotte and the surrounding Mecklenburg County area. The city said it will reassess the restriction level as streamflow and reservoir levels continue to recover.
