Minneapolis VA Medical Center Receives Funding for Infrastructure Improvements in Record $4.8 Billion VA Program

Minneapolis is a city in Hennepin County, Minnesota. The Minneapolis VA Medical Center has received funding for Non-recurring Maintenance projects in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026, the Department of Veterans Affairs announced in an October 16 press release, following earlier awards this year.
The Minneapolis projects include electronic health record modernization infrastructure upgrades for a Tier 2 data center, installation of data drops and power outlets, site preparation for a gastrointestinal fluoroscopy X-ray system, campus chilled water improvements, pharmacy cleanroom renovation, replacement of the front entrance revolving door, and site preparation for sterile processing services equipment.
The funding is part of a record $4.8 billion in nationwide VA spending to modernize, repair and improve health care facilities in FY2026 through the Veterans Health Administration's Non-recurring Maintenance program, all of which VA says it has obligated. 'This funding allows Minneapolis VA Medical Center to continue modernizing and improving, so our facility remains safe, efficient, and equipped to provide high-quality care for Veterans within our healthcare system,' said Pat Kelly, Minneapolis VA Health Care System Director.
