Murrieta Rod Run Draws 600-Plus Classic Cars to Historic Downtown, With Proceeds Benefiting Oak Grove Center

Murrieta — Murrieta is a city in Riverside County, California. The annual Murrieta Rod Run was held October 9–10 in historic downtown Murrieta, where more than 600 classic cars gathered along the Washington Avenue old town district for a Friday cruise night and a Saturday car show, the Valley News reported on October 15.
The event is hosted by the Drifters Car Club. According to Explore Murrieta, the club has been the driving force behind the charitable car show for more than a decade, donating all show proceeds to the Oak Grove Center in Murrieta for its work with children, with net proceeds expected to exceed $60,000; club members volunteer their time and are never paid.
The cruise night on October 9, from 4 to 8 p.m., was free and open to the public. The Rod Run is a fixture of the fall calendar in Old Town Murrieta, and this year's turnout topped 600 vehicles.
