Guilavogui Scores Twice as Real Salt Lake Beat Sporting KC 3-1

Salt Lake City is a city in Salt Lake County, Utah. Real Salt Lake won 3-1 on the road at Sporting Kansas City on Saturday, October 17, for three valuable points. According to the Associated Press, 28-year-old forward Morgan Guilavogui scored twice: a tight-angle finish from near the right end line in the 11th minute, and a second in the 61st minute off a feed from Noel Caliskan. It was the first two-goal game of Guilavogui's career, in just his first MLS season.
Sergi Solans volleyed home a deflection in the 14th minute to make it 2-0. Taylor Calheira pulled one back for Kansas City in the 26th, but the hosts could not recover. Salt Lake goalkeeper Rafael Cabral needed just one save; RSL's record moves to 10 wins, 6 draws and 14 losses.
Sporting goalkeeper Stefan Cleveland made five saves in the loss. Kansas City, at 6 wins, 4 draws and 20 losses for 22 points — the fewest in the league, with a league-worst minus-39 goal difference — is the only Western Conference team mathematically eliminated from the 2026 MLS Cup playoffs. Real Salt Lake host St. Louis next Saturday.
