Follow-Up: Rose Haven's 35th Anniversary Weekend Holds Ribbon Cutting and Family Day; Art and Music Finale on Sunday

TEMECULA, Calif. — Temecula is a city in Riverside County, California. Rose Haven Heritage Garden's three-day 35th anniversary celebration has completed its first two days. As GSM reported earlier, the celebration is hosted by the nonprofit Temecula Valley Rose Society, which owns and manages the garden, from October 16 to 18 at 30592 Jedediah Smith Road.
On Friday, October 16, the garden held its ribbon cutting and rededication ceremony: attendees posed behind a red ribbon lettered "Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce" as Girl Scouts and community members cut it with oversized scissors, opening a new chapter for the garden founded in 1991. Saturday, October 17, brought "Families and Community in the Garden" from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a registration tent handing out free tote bags, booths from community organizations including environmental education, women's club and veterans' support groups, and interactive activities and demonstrations; the society posted same-day video from the grounds.
The celebration concludes today, Sunday, October 18, with "Art, Music, Poetry, and Dance" from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., featuring local artists and performers plus a market of local artisan vendors. Admission is free, with donations appreciated. Rose Haven Heritage Garden covers about 3.4 acres with roughly 2,000 rose bushes and is normally open free of charge daily from dawn to dusk.
