Pokémon Pokopia's First Halloween Event Is Live: Befriend Pumpkaboo, Trade Pumpkin Candy for Midnight Festival Furniture Through November 1

Sunday, October 18, 2026 · Games · GSM News

Nintendo announced on October 17 that Pokémon Pokopia, for Nintendo Switch 2, has launched its first Halloween event, “Pumpkaboo's Sweet Surprises!,” running from 5:00 a.m. local time on Saturday, October 17 to 4:59 a.m. on Sunday, November 1, alongside the game's Ver. 2.0.1 update.

The event stars Pumpkaboo, the Pumpkin Pokémon. Players can befriend Pumpkaboo by speaking with it near the Pokémon Center and fulfilling its request. During the event, players use the move Camouflage — learned from Zorua in Bleak Beach — to disguise themselves as furniture and items Pokémon like, then surprise unsuspecting Pokémon to earn the event-only item Pumpkin Candy. The candy can be traded at the Pokémon Center for midnight festival-themed furniture and decorations, and building a habitat from those items can draw in Gourgeist, Pumpkaboo's evolved form, to befriend. Pokémon befriended during the event remain in the player's town after it ends.

To take part, players must have completed a town's important request, rebuilt the Pokémon Center, and learned Camouflage; an internet connection is required the first time the event is played, and the system clock must be set to the real-world date and time. The event does not occur on Cloud Islands or in Bubbly Basin, and multiplayer sessions use Palette Town after players first speak to Pumpkaboo for the event details.
