SHANGHAI — China's Ruoning Yin closed with a four-under 68 on Sunday, October 18 to win the Buick LPGA Shanghai at Sheshan Golf Club, finishing at 11-under 277 to beat South Korea's Hye-Jin Choi by one shot, successfully defend her title and claim her seventh career LPGA Tour victory.

Yin made four of her five birdies on the back nine and rolled in a decisive birdie putt at the 17th, hitting all 14 fairways in the final round. Choi shot 71 to finish at 10-under; it was the fifth time she has held or shared the 54-hole lead on the LPGA Tour without converting it into a win.

The title is Yin's second of the season and her second straight victory, following her win at the FM Championship in her previous start in August. She joins Danielle Kang as the only two-time winners of the Shanghai event. "This course you have to play really, really patient, and there are not many birdie chances," Yin said.

Yin has now surpassed $3 million in official season earnings and moved to No. 5 in the Race to the CME Globe standings, with three tournaments remaining. (GSM, from official LPGA data and wire reports)
