St. Louis City SC Reaches First U.S. Open Cup Final, Faces Columbus on Oct. 21

St. Louis is an independent city in Missouri. St. Louis City SC will face the Columbus Crew in the U.S. Open Cup final on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m. CT at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field in Columbus — the first final in club history in the 113-year-old competition.
The Open Cup is the oldest soccer tournament in the United States. The venue becomes the 70th stadium to host an Open Cup final. Columbus is in its fourth final, having won once, in 2002, and last appeared in 2010. The winner earns a berth in the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup. St. Louis had carried a 21-match unbeaten run across all competitions before it was snapped Saturday in a 3-2 home loss to Minnesota United. City SC now chases the first Open Cup trophy in club history. (GSM, via St. Louis City SC and U.S. Soccer)
