Follow-Up: Victim in Eastvale House Shooting Identified as Roman McClain, 21, of Victorville
EASTVALE, Riverside County, California — The Riverside County Sheriff's Office Coroner's Bureau on October 19 identified the man killed in the October 17 shooting at a home in the 7000 block of Morning Hills Drive in Eastvale as Roman McClain, 21, of Victorville. Coroner case file No. 2026-07701 records that his next of kin has been notified.
According to the coroner's record, McClain was injured at 11:12 p.m. on October 17 and was pronounced dead at 11:30 p.m. in the backyard of the residence. The case remains under investigation by the Sheriff's Jurupa Valley Station and the Central Homicide Unit, under Investigation No. EV262900055.
On the night of the shooting, deputies from the Jurupa Valley Station responded at 11:13 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, to a report of unknown trouble and a possible shooting, and found seven people suffering from gunshot wounds. McClain was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other six were taken to local hospitals. The Sheriff's Office had initially withheld the victim's identity pending notification of next of kin. As of October 19, officials had announced no arrests and released no suspect description, and the conditions of the six surviving victims have not been released.
