Los Angeles Opens Applications for $466 Million in Affordable Housing Funds

Monday, October 19, 2026 · California · GSM News

The Los Angeles Housing Department (LAHD) announced on October 13 that it is accepting applications for $466 million in affordable housing funds through a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA). LAHD General Manager Tiena Johnson called it a historic moment for the department, offering funding not just for new construction but also for housing preservation and stabilization, while creating a path to homeownership.

Councilwoman Ysabel Jurado said voters approved Measure ULA because they want real housing solutions: "This $466 million puts those dollars to work by building affordable homes and preserving the housing Angelenos already depend on." The funds come through United to House LA (Measure ULA).

The department said its priority is keeping people in their homes and getting people off the streets and into housing. Eligibility, eligible project types and deadlines are set out in LAHD's published NOFA documents.

This round is offered as Round 2 of the Homes for LA program, with applications accepted through December 4; funding is expected to be released in February and March 2027, with final City Council approval expected in April 2027. The program's first round, launched in May, totaled $360 million and supported 80 affordable housing projects comprising 5,241 homes.
