Bombardier Invests $50 Million in Wichita, Opening Its First North American Learning Center

Monday, October 19, 2026 · States · GSM News

Bombardier announced on October 15 an investment of approximately $50 million to grow the capabilities of its Wichita, Kansas site, inaugurating its new North American Learning Center — the company's first dedicated in-house skills development center for newly hired aircraft technicians and mechanics — at a ceremony attended by Governor Laura Kelly.

The investment also includes the recently expanded Wheel and Tire Shop, which strengthens the site's component repair and overhaul (CR&O) capabilities, as well as future capability projects. Wichita hosts Bombardier's U.S. headquarters and Bombardier Defense, and employs about 1,500 Kansans.

Kelly said her administration has partnered with Bombardier since 2019 to build up its Wichita presence, and that the new $50 million investment underscores the strength of that partnership. Paul Sislian, Bombardier's executive vice president for aftermarket services, said Wichita remains an important part of the company's footprint and the investment strengthens both its people and its operations.
