Salt Lake City Holds 18th Teen Memoriam for 30 Teens Killed on Utah Roads in 2025

SALT LAKE CITY — The 18th annual Teen Memoriam was held on October 19 in Salt Lake City, in Salt Lake County, Utah, where officials from the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), the Department of Public Safety and the Department of Health and Human Services joined bereaved families to honor the 30 teenagers killed on Utah roads in 2025. The event coincides with National Teen Driver Safety Week.
At the event, the families of Anneka Wilson and Branson Davis shared their experiences of loss. UDOT Commissioner Carlos Braceras said: "Every one of these young people had a future ahead of them, and every family represented in the Teen Memoriam is carrying a loss that cannot be put into words. By sharing their stories, these families are helping us remind young people that the decisions they make on the road matter. Whether it's slowing down, putting away the phone, wearing a seat belt or never driving impaired, choosing safety can save a life."
David Litvak, Deputy Commissioner of Community Health and Well-Being at the Utah Department of Health and Human Services, said the Memoriam is an important opportunity to remember the young people lost, and expressed hope the stories would encourage parents, teens, educators and communities to talk about the choices that prevent crashes.
