ACA Detroit to Host 43rd Scholarship Award Ceremony Dinner on October 25: 62 Students Named Honorees
Detroit's Chinese American community in Wayne County, Michigan, will mark an annual education milestone. The Association of Chinese Americans (ACA) will host its 43rd High School and College Scholarship Award Ceremony Dinner on Sunday, October 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Royal Palace of Troy, 5087 Rochester Rd., Troy, MI 48085.
According to ACA, 62 students earned the distinction of being named ACA Scholarship Honorees this year through a rigorous application and interview process: 49 high school students and 13 college students, recognized for academic accomplishments, leadership and community involvement. From that group, 28 individual scholarships, 21 for high school students and 7 for college students, will be announced during the ceremony.
Michigan State Senator Stephanie Chang will serve as keynote speaker. Page Toyota and Page Honda Bloomfield are the exclusive dinner sponsors, and the Zheng Family sponsored gifts for the students. The dress code is business formal, and registration is available through ACA's website. The scholarship program has run for more than four decades. (GSM, based on ACA Detroit)
