Tuesday, October 20, 2026 · City · GSM News

In Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, an autumn market is coming to the Asian community. Lanterns & Legends: Autumn AAPI Market, presented by AAPI Events, will be held on October 25 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Uni Uni Boba and Haibayo, 1130 W. Argyle Street in Uptown, with free admission. The Argyle Street area is home to Chinese and Southeast Asian communities on Chicago's North Side. Themed on Asian folklore, mythology and legends, the lantern-lit market gathers local AAPI artists, makers and food vendors offering artwork and crafts inspired by moon goddesses, mythical creatures and spirits, along with Asian snacks, pastries and desserts. A stamp rally lets visitors collect stamps from participating vendors to redeem a special prize while supplies last, and guests are encouraged to wear costumes inspired by mythical, magical or folkloric characters. Choose Chicago, the city's official tourism organization, has listed the event in its recommendations. (GSM, based on the Choose Chicago event page)
