Hillary Clinton to Appear at Thoracic Surgeons' Meeting: Plenary Conversation Set for the STS 63rd Annual Meeting in San Diego Next January

The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) announced in an October 19 press release that former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will be a plenary speaker at the society's 63rd Annual Meeting. The meeting is scheduled for January 28-31, 2027, at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California, under the theme "Excellence. Evidence. Impact."
Clinton's session is billed as "A Conversation with Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton." The three other announced plenary speakers are Shivdev Rao, MD, co-founder and CEO of the clinician SI company Abridge; Wayne A. I. Frederick, MD, MBA, president of Howard University, who will deliver the Vivien T. Thomas Lecture, titled "The Amplification of Humanity in Leadership"; and Clay B. Marsh, MD, chancellor of West Virginia University, speaking on "Health Span and the Science of Longevity."
STS President Vinay Badhwar, MD, said in the release that the society is honored to welcome four remarkable leaders to the meeting. Founded in 1964, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons is a nonprofit organization representing more than 8,000 cardiothoracic surgeons, researchers and allied health care professionals worldwide, and its annual meeting is among the largest gatherings in the field.
The appearance adds to Clinton's public speaking schedule. According to previously announced plans from organizers, she is also set to undertake a college speaking tour titled "An Evening with Hillary Rodham Clinton" in April 2027. The STS said the meeting's full program and registration details are posted on its website.
