Murrieta Earns GFOA 'Triple Crown': City Collects All Three Top Financial Reporting Awards

The City of Murrieta, in Riverside County, California, announced that it has earned a Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) "Triple Crown" designation, collecting all three of the association's top honors in the latest awards cycle.
The three awards are the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the city's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its budget document, and the Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting for its Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR). The GFOA Triple Crown recognizes governments that receive all three awards in the same cycle, honoring transparency in financial reporting and excellence in budget presentation.
Murrieta City Hall is located at 1 Town Square, and the city's finance department prepares all three documents. The GFOA is the professional association for government finance officers in North America, with more than 20,000 members, and its reporting and budget awards are regarded as benchmarks for state and local government financial disclosure.
