Pittsburgh: Taiwanese Musician Nini Brings 'East Goes West 2026' Tour to the Pittsburgh Area Tonight
New Kensington, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania: Taiwanese musician Nini will perform in the Pittsburgh area tonight, October 20, at 7 p.m. at Preserving Underground, 1101 5th Ave. in New Kensington, roughly 20 miles northeast of downtown Pittsburgh, as part of her "East Goes West 2026" tour. The show is a ticketed event, with tickets sold online.
Nini has dedicated over two decades to mastering and performing traditional folk instruments and has been described as a "musical shapeshifter." She plays genres such as heavy metal, rock and EDM on traditional instruments including the Ruan, Liuqin and Sanxian, and also performs on a unique electric lute known as the DaoYu, using its modern sound to bridge cultural and musical boundaries. Her tours have taken her across Europe, the United States, Canada, China, Japan and Taiwan. Nini previously performed on America's Got Talent, and the tour continues her experiment of bringing traditional instruments into mainstream live music.
