Raleigh-Durham: Lenovo's New ThinkPad T-Series Earns a Perfect 10/10 Repairability Score From iFixit

Repair publication iFixit reported on October 20 that Lenovo's new ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 and T16 Gen 5 have scored a perfect 10 out of 10 on its repairability scale — the first time the ThinkPad T-series has earned the top rating. Lenovo's North American headquarters is in Morrisville, Wake County, North Carolina, in the Raleigh-Durham metro area. iFixit noted the score is provisional and will be finalized when official parts and repair instructions become available through Lenovo's support site.
According to iFixit, the new models' repairability rests on accessible, replaceable parts: an easily swapped, nearly tool-free battery; industry-standard M.2 SSD storage; one of the easiest keyboard replacement procedures it has seen; serviceable LPCAMM2 memory; streamlined display repairs; a modular cooling system with an independently replaceable fan; and fully modular, individually replaceable Thunderbolt ports. Christoph Blindenbacher, director of ThinkPad product management, said repairability is a core pillar of good product design, not a compromise of innovation. Lenovo is the world's largest PC vendor by shipments. iFixit disclosed that it has an ongoing business relationship with Lenovo. (GSM, based on iFixit's review)
