Titans Release Defensive Tackle Jordan Elliott After an "Incident" at the Team Facility Last Week

The Tennessee Titans announced on October 20 that they were releasing defensive tackle Jordan Elliott. The team's statement said: "On Thursday, October 15, an incident involving Jordan Elliott occurred at the team facility.
After review, we have decided to release him from the roster. We will have no further comment." Elliott, 28, played in five games this season with one start, recording 11 tackles in 138 defensive snaps.
The team listed him as missing practice for personal reasons on October 16, and he did not travel with the team for the October 18 road game against the Indianapolis Colts — which the Titans won 26-20 for their first victory of the season. Elliott was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the third round in 2020 and joined the Titans this offseason on a two-year deal worth about $8 million, with a $2.8 million salary cap charge this season and $5.1 million next season.
He previously spent two seasons (2024-2025) with the San Francisco 49ers under current Titans head coach Robert Saleh. For his career, Elliott has played 102 games with 65 starts, totaling 159 tackles, 14 quarterback hits and 5 sacks.
The Titans said they would not comment further on the specifics of the release; the team hosts the Cleveland Browns in Week 7.
