EA Sports Confirms Fight Night Is Coming Back, 15 Years After the Boxing Series' Last Game: No Platforms or Release Window Announced Yet

EA Sports announced on October 20 that its Fight Night boxing video game series is coming back, ending a dormancy of 15 years. The confirmation came in the first post of a new official EA SPORTS Fight Night account: "To everyone who stayed in our corner: Fight Night is coming back." The post was paired with an image of red boxing gloves hanging under a spotlight above an empty ring, carrying the tagline "The fight is never over."
The teaser, posted at 11 a.m. Pacific time and reposted by the main EA Sports and Electronic Arts accounts, passed 20,000 likes and close to 600,000 views within about an hour. Beyond the confirmation itself, EA gave no practical details: no platforms, no release window, no price, no gameplay footage and no named developer have been announced, and the company has not said when it will share more. The new account's bio reads "Back into the ring" and notes that the game's ESRB rating is pending.
The Fight Night series debuted in 2004 and released five games before going dormant after Fight Night Champion in March 2011, which launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 with a story mode built around the fictional boxer Andre Bishop. After the series was shelved, EA redirected much of its combat sports team to mixed martial arts and released five EA Sports UFC games between 2014 and 2026. In the intervening years, Steel City Interactive's Undisputed, released in 2024, became the first licensed boxing video game to reach the market since Fight Night Champion.
