Thursday, October 22, 2026 · City · GSM News

DETROIT, Michigan — Project Clean Slate, the City of Detroit's expungement program in Wayne County, Michigan, held a service clinic on October 10 at Team Wellness's Mack location, drawing more than 200 attendees. The city program helps eligible residents apply to have past criminal records expunged, reducing barriers to employment and housing.

Partners on site included the Detroit Police Department, Safe & Just Michigan, Lakeshore Legal Aid, the Michigan Attorney General's Office and the Michigan State Police. DPD officers provided free fingerprinting, a required step in the expungement process, while legal aid staff helped residents check case eligibility and paperwork. The city reported the clinic in its October 2026 newsletter and said Project Clean Slate will continue holding similar service days across Detroit. (GSM, based on the City of Detroit newsletter)
