Portland Clean Energy Fund Names Inaugural Community Organization Capacity Cohort: Nine Groups, Up to $4 Million Over Three Years

PORTLAND, Oregon — The Portland Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund (PCEF) of Portland, in Multnomah County, Oregon, announced on October 16 its inaugural Community-Based Organization Capacity Building cohort, naming nine community organizations. Under the fund's Strategic Program 10, the cohort can receive up to $4 million in total support over three years.
PCEF is funded by a 1 percent surcharge on large retailers and supports community-led climate and clean-energy projects, with a focus on communities that have historically received fewer resources. The capacity-building awards are meant to strengthen the selected organizations' operations and project-delivery ability so they can carry future clean-energy and community-benefit work. The cohort list and funding arrangements are published on the city's website. (GSM, based on the City of Portland announcement)
