San Jacinto Council Hears Two Annexation Items: 151-Home Tract Map Still Requires LAFCO Approval

SAN JACINTO, California — The City Council of San Jacinto, in Riverside County, California, heard two annexation items on October 20, including a residential development south of Ramona Expressway. The Planning Commission had recommended that the council annex two parcels totaling 43.68 acres and approve Tentative Tract Map 34271, covering 41.74 acres with 151 single-family lots plus park, detention and landscape lots.
Under California procedure, annexations of city boundaries take effect only after approval by the Riverside County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO). The council's consideration is the city-level step; implementation of the tract map depends on LAFCO's subsequent decision.
