Seattle's PIVOT Arts Cohort Reaches Six-Month Mark: 15 Organizations in Two-Year, $2 Million-a-Year Pilot

SEATTLE, Washington — The Office of Arts & Culture (OAC) of Seattle, in King County, Washington, has reported six-month progress on PIVOT (Pathways to Innovation, Vitality, and Organizational Transformation), its two-year grant pilot for nonprofit arts and cultural organizations. Running from 2026 through early 2028, the pilot supports a cohort of 15 organizations in becoming more sustainable and resilient amid long-term underfunding, pandemic-era losses and outdated operating structures.
PIVOT uses $2 million annually from the city's Admission Tax. Cohort members receive unrestricted funding alongside technical advising and leadership coaching, with peer-to-peer learning built in. 'Our cohort of PIVOT grantees are learning from each other's successes and struggles,' said OAC Director Amy Nguyen. 'This isn't just a band-aid. It's wraparound assistance with a commitment to share meaningful lessons with the broader community of arts organizations.' (GSM, based on the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture announcement)
