Wildomar Mayor Stresses Preparedness at State of the City: Staffing and Equipment Needs Assessed for the Next 5 to 20 Years

Thursday, October 22, 2026 · California · GSM News

WILDOMAR, California — Mayor Carlos Marquez of Wildomar, in Riverside County, California, emphasized public-safety preparedness at the city's State of the City event in October, saying the city is assessing deputy and firefighter staffing and equipment needs for the next 5 to 20 years, with training, equipment checks and long-range service planning as priorities. He cited potential El Niño storms, wildfire risk and growing medical-response demand as reasons to plan ahead.

At the same event, officials reviewed the year's work, including new infrastructure spending, civic technology upgrades and public-safety preparedness. Wildomar contracts for police and fire services through Riverside County agencies, and the city periodically reviews service levels against population and growth. The mayor said the advance assessment is meant to preserve response capacity as the city grows. (GSM, based on Wildomar State of the City records)
