Thursday, October 22, 2026 · States · GSM News

Explore Louisiana, the state's office of tourism, announced on October 22 that the Michelin Guide has honored Louisiana restaurants for a second consecutive year, with 40 restaurants recognized at a ceremony held on October 21 in Nashville, Tennessee. The ceremony marked the release of the second regional Michelin Guide in North America.

Four restaurants received Michelin stars, all in New Orleans: Emeril's received two stars, while Dakar NOLA, newly honored this year, Saint-Germain and Zasu received one star each. Another 12 restaurants received the Bib Gourmand distinction, including Cochon, Dooky Chase and Turkey and the Wolf, and 24 received a Michelin recommendation, among them Elsie's Plate & Pie in Baton Rouge, Feliciana Bistrot and Bar in Covington and the St. Francisville Inn & Restaurant in St. Francisville, the honorees located outside New Orleans.

'When people visit Louisiana, they come for the food, but they stay because of how our people make them feel. Having the Michelin Guide recognize our incredible restaurants for a second year proves what we have always known: our Cajun, Creole, and Gulf-fresh culinary scene is second to none,' said Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser. Louisiana joined the Michelin Guide partnership through Travel South USA as part of a three-year initiative to elevate the South's culinary reputation on the global stage.
