Ubisoft Sets December 9 Switch 2 Launch for Riders Republic, With a Free Weekend Running October 22 to 26

Thursday, October 22, 2026 · Games · GSM News

Ubisoft used the fifth-anniversary showcase for Riders Republic to announce that the massive multiplayer extreme-sports game will launch worldwide on Nintendo Switch 2 on December 9, 2026. Several gaming outlets also reported that a new offline single-player mode called Nomad will arrive on all platforms the same day, with offline progress reconciled with a player's online save on reconnecting, while the shop, season progression, multiplayer and user-created events will still require a connection. To mark the anniversary, Ubisoft is running a free weekend from October 22 to 26 on all existing platforms, and progress made during the free weekend carries over if a player buys the game. During the accompanying sale, the Ubisoft Store offers up to 90 percent off through October 26, while PlayStation and Xbox offer up to 80 percent off through November 4.

Developed by Ubisoft Annecy and first released in 2021, Riders Republic has drawn more than 17 million players. Set across U.S. national parks including Bryce Canyon, Yosemite Valley and Mammoth Mountain, it spans mountain biking, BMX, skateboarding, snowboarding, scooters and wingsuit racing, with mass-start races of more than 50 players, team events and trick competitions.
