Amtrak to Make a Special Stop in Ocean Springs for the Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival, November 7-8

Amtrak has announced that its Mardi Gras Service, running between Mobile, Alabama, and New Orleans, Louisiana, will make a rare temporary stop in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, for the 48th annual Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival. The festival runs November 7-8 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, with free admission.
More than 400 artists, crafters and food vendors are expected, and the festival has drawn about 100,000 visitors in recent years. The announcement was made by the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce–Main Street–Tourism Bureau.
The festival, first held in 1978, honors Peter Anderson, founder of Shearwater Pottery, established in Ocean Springs in 1928. Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari posted introductory one-way fares of $65 from Mobile and $80 from New Orleans to Ocean Springs.
