Thursday, October 22, 2026 · Games · GSM News

The sci-fi Metroidvania Moadra was released on October 22 for Nintendo Switch and other platforms. The game was announced in 2025 and originally slated for release that year; its launch date was confirmed alongside a new trailer.

The game is set on the forgotten planet Protea VI. Players take the role of Moadra, traversing a vast alien world of bizarre creatures, deadly hazards and grim mysteries 20,000 years after their ancestors' extinction, seeking redemption and confronting the sin buried in the planet's depths. Explorable areas include a desolate surface, freezing summits and a research facility infested with alien species.

Moadra can roll, dodge, leap, wall-jump and sprint, and uses an arsenal of weapons and special abilities against threats from low-level organisms to gargantuan monsters. A scanner bot with X-ray vision can examine creatures and surroundings to reveal hidden paths, and defeated creatures yield Protoplasm, a biomass that can be consumed inside organic chambers to evolve abilities and weapons.
