Claremont Police to Run DUI Checkpoint Oct. 23; Wilderness Park Closed Over Rain Forecast

The City of Claremont, in Los Angeles County, California, carried two travel-related notices in its weekly city manager update.
First, the Claremont Police Department will conduct a DUI checkpoint on Friday, Oct. 23, from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. the following morning at an undisclosed location within the city, screening drivers for alcohol- and drug-impaired driving.
Second, citing forecast rain, the city has closed Claremont Hills Wilderness Park effective Oct. 22. The park will reopen once the rain has passed and the trails have dried, and the city advised residents to check the park's status before visiting.
The weekly update also carried local vote center information for the Nov. 3 election, available on the city's website.
