Irvine's Northwood Community Park Playground Upgrade Starts Nov. 2, With Reopening Set for Summer 2027
The City of Irvine, in Orange County, California, has announced that an upgrade of the playground at Northwood Community Park will begin on Nov. 2. The project will install new play equipment, lay rubberized surfacing, add shade structures and picnic tables, build an ADA-accessible ramp and update the park's fitness equipment, while the park's signature castle structure will be preserved. The city says the playground will be closed during construction, while the community center and ball fields remain open; the work is expected to be completed and the playground reopened in summer 2027.
