The City of Westminster, in Orange County, California, says in its October 2026 economic development newsletter that it is preparing its first Economic Development Strategic Plan and is seeking input from local businesses to set priorities for the next five years. The city is also inviting public comment on an update of its Local Hazard Mitigation Plan.

Support measures for small businesses described in the newsletter include reimbursements of up to $1,000 for spending on technology, accessibility improvements, cybersecurity and workforce needs, with application help from the Orange County Inland Empire Small Business Development Center (OCIE SBDC); California's Paid Family Leave small business grant offers up to $2,000 per eligible employee. The city says 57 new local businesses were licensed in September. The newsletter also notes recent openings including DD's Discount, at 6767 Westminster Blvd, and the seventh location of El Pollo Norteño, at 14980 Goldenwest St.
