Georgia Absentee Ballot Requests Due October 23; Asian Advocacy Group Offers Chinese-Language Ballot Information

ATLANTA, Georgia — In Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia, with the November 3 general election approaching, Georgia officials remind voters that the deadline to request an absentee (mail-in) ballot is Friday, October 23; completed absentee ballots must be received by the county elections office or placed in a designated drop box by 7 p.m. on election day, November 3, and in-person early voting runs through October 30. The Georgia-based Asian American Advocacy Fund has published a multilingual voting guide explaining registration, early voting and mail voting and the photo ID required, and directs voters to check the races on their own ballot at branch.vote, a platform that provides information in Chinese. The organization notes that while mail requests may be submitted up to the October 23 deadline, voters should act early to ensure ballots arrive and are returned in time, or instead vote in person at any early-voting site in their county. The guide also notes that voters who run into problems at a polling place may ask for a provisional ballot, and that the Georgia Secretary of State's office maintains a voter hotline.
