Silovs' 26-Save Shutout Leads Penguins Past Panthers 4–0 to End Four-Game Skid

PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania — The Pittsburgh Penguins, in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, beat the Florida Panthers 4–0 at home on Thursday night, October 22 to end a four-game losing streak. Goaltender Arturs Silovs made 26 saves for his second shutout of the season. Nick Robertson scored twice, including an empty-net goal late in the third period; Evgeni Malkin and Hendrix Lapierre each had a goal and an assist, and Connor Dewar added two assists. Pittsburgh had won only once in its previous eight games (1–6–1). Florida was shut out for the first time this season, playing the second game of a back-to-back on the road; its 25-year-old goaltender Cooper Black made his NHL debut with 17 saves — at 6-foot-9, he becomes the tallest goaltender in league history. Off the ice, 19-year-old rookie Ben Kindel, who suffered a medical episode on the team flight this week, has returned to Pittsburgh, and general manager Kyle Dubas said he could resume training early next week.
