King County Recovers 92 Discarded Ballots in Seattle; Replacements Issued as Postal Inspectors Investigate

King County elections officials in Seattle, Washington, have recovered 92 discarded mail ballots and issued replacement ballots to the affected voters. The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is investigating how the ballots were discarded.
According to FOX 13 and KIRO, the ballots were found in the Golden Gardens area of Ballard. Seattle police subsequently checked 26 dumpsters and found no additional ballots.
County officials said replacement ballots are distinctly marked, and voters should complete and return the replacement; only one valid ballot per voter will be counted. Mail voting for the November 3 midterm elections is under way.
