Blues Assign Defenseman Theo Lindstein, 21, to AHL Springfield

St. Louis Blues general manager Alexander Steen announced that the team has assigned 21-year-old defenseman Theo Lindstein to its AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds. The move was made on Thursday night, October 22, and released by the club on October 23.
Lindstein impressed in the preseason and made the opening-night lineup, playing the Blues' first four games with one assist and 14:33 of ice time per game, before Justin Barron took his spot and he was a healthy scratch for six straight games. The Swedish defenseman was drafted by the Blues in the first round, 29th overall, in 2023, and played 59 games for Springfield last season, recording 14 points (six goals, eight assists).
The club said steady AHL ice time will serve the young defenseman's development better than sitting in the NHL press box.
