Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Unionize; Team Recognizes Bargaining Representative

The Dallas Cowboys have agreed to recognize the newly formed Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Association (DCCA) as the collective bargaining representative for the famous cheer squad, the Associated Press reported on October 23. Both sides announced the decision in a joint statement on Friday, and collective bargaining is expected to follow.
The cheerleaders' pay has been debated for years. In 2019 the Cowboys settled a lawsuit by a former cheerleader that doubled per-game pay from $200 to $400, and the second season of the Netflix series about the squad disclosed a further raise of about 400 percent in 2025.
The joint statement called the cheerleaders an esteemed part of the Cowboys organization, respected for their talent and dedication and still one of the most sought-after opportunities for dancers worldwide. According to Forbes, the Cowboys are the most valuable professional sports franchise in the world.
