Houston to Mark October 25 as Dr. Mathew Knowles Day: Honoring His Music Career and Breast Cancer Advocacy
HOUSTON, Texas — In Houston, Harris County, organizers announced on October 23 that the Houston City Council will proclaim Sunday, October 25, 2026, as Dr. Mathew Knowles Day, recognizing his contributions in music, entrepreneurship, education and breast cancer advocacy.
The proclamation will be presented on October 25 at the "Strength, Survival & Sisterhood: Breast Cancer & Domestic Violence Awareness Brunch" at The Junior League of Houston, hosted by Dr. Sonia R. White, founder and chief editor of Winners of the World Global Magazine.
Mathew Knowles is the founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Music World Entertainment Corporation. According to the announcement, he built an initial $1,000 investment into a multimillion-dollar entertainment enterprise. A male breast cancer survivor who publicly revealed his diagnosis in 2019, he has shared his experience for years to raise awareness of the disease.
"Dr. Mathew Knowles has shown the world what extraordinary vision, discipline, and determination can accomplish," White said. "But beyond the music, the awards, and the global success stands a man whose courage to publicly share his breast cancer journey has given hope to countless individuals."
